Bad Bottle Policy

Tennessee law permits us to accept the return of goods that are defective; for such returns we can offer a replacement of the same item, or we can refund a credit card, or we can issue a store credit.

The bottle must be full (or at least 90%) and re-corked. Please have the receipt available if you did not purchase it with your customer ID.

Bad Bottles Happen!

What constitutes a bad bottle?

When a wine is corked.

A 'corked' wine will smell and taste like musty cardboard, wet dog, or a moldy basement. It's very easy to identify! Some wines have just the faintest hint of TCA- which will essentially rob the wine of its aromas and make it taste flat. Only wines closed with a natural cork will have this problem!

A few characteristics of wine bottles that are fine- just different.

A small amount of mold on the top of the cork. This does not affect the wine or its flavor. This often happens in cellars and when a wine is stored with good humidity.

Seepage- this can go either way. An example. Chateau Musar (sought-after and delicious) often has corks where wine seeps out and the wine…. Is life changing inside the bottle!

A different scenario could be if someone leaves a bottle of wine in a hot car and the wine starts to heat up and push the cork out. That is just unfortunate.
